Composting makes the soil magical!

Wiggle Room… Enter the Worm Farm 🪱🌱

Introducing our Subpod

So excited to take our gardening to a whole new level!

Because apparently chickens, gardens, and goats weren’t enough…

Somewhere along this journey, we decided to add…

Worms.

And honestly?

It may be one of the smartest things we’ve done.

When you start gardening on a bigger scale, you quickly realize one thing…

Healthy soil isn’t cheap.

And if you want thriving plants, beautiful harvests, and long-term success… feeding your soil matters just as much as watering your plants.

So instead of constantly buying fertilizer, we decided to let nature do what nature does best.

Enter our little underground workforce… 🪱

Our worm farm has become one of the easiest ways to:

  • Cut back on kitchen waste ♻️

  • Create nutrient-rich compost naturally 🌱

  • Save money on fertilizer 💰

  • Keep our garden ecosystem working together

Around here, almost nothing goes to waste.

Our chickens get plenty of kitchen scraps…

…but whatever they don’t eat?

It goes straight to the worms.

Fruit peels, veggie scraps, coffee grounds, eggshells… our worms are not picky 😅

And in return?

They give us some of the richest, most beautiful worm castings you could ask for—aka garden gold.

And let me tell you…

Our plants know the difference.

Uncle Jim’s Worms!

Don’t forget the worms!!!

These Red Wigglers take scraps and turn it into some of the best fertilizer you can use in your garden! These little guys maybe little, but they are mighty! Basically they break down your food scraps (be sure to read the directions on the Subpod what you can and CAN’T put in there) and deliver it back to you in POOP! Yup, you read that right…worm poop aka worm castings!

Byrdie is clearly an expert on composting already by her non-bossy directions to her friend! But I love how she genuinely loves to be out here AND teach her friends all about it! So if you need a teacher, I’ve got your gal!

Our Advice?

If you’re serious about gardening—and especially if you’re trying to do it in a way that’s sustainable, budget-friendly, and a little more self-sufficient…

Start a worm farm.

It’s easier than you think…

And trust me…

Watching worms turn your leftovers into garden magic is oddly satisfying. 🪱✨
