Dear Santa…Willie needs friends!
Two weeks before Christmas,
when Byrdie told me what she wanted for Christmas I didn’t know whether to cry from being proud or to cry for what I was about to have to pull off!
I asked her one day what she was going to put on her list for Santa, her immediate response, “I don’t need anything, but Willie is sad alone, so I am going to ask Santa for a friend for Willie!” I mean, how do you tell a kid no to that (not that I have really ever turned down adding animals out here!)
But here is the deal..it is two weeks before Christmas! How in the world am I going to pull this off?!? I searched high and low. I stayed up hours on end searching Facebook…until I hit the jackpot! I found a breeder that had just what we needed, half Pygmy half Dwarf! And the best part…the were available for Santa to pick up on his fancy sled and bring just in the nick of time!
But, we didn’t just get one…we got two! The breeder informed me that they had triplets and two were left. She couldn’t bear to just have one left! She made Santa a deal he couldn’t refuse and that is how we ended up with Hank and Waylon!
Goat Coats.
There are a lot of things we have learned through this adventure of farm animals! But by far the most interesting is the fact that goats need coats! A few days after Santa’s special delivery…we had the craziest of a blizzard of a winter here in Texas! So all of the sudden, I started seeing on FB that people were putting coats on their goats! Sounds funny…but apparently a necessity. I searched high and low and there were no livestock to be found. So I went with the second best thing…a dog coat! I mean why not, Willie thinks he’s a dog!
